In comparison to His majesty, and the splendor of His holiness, we are but filthy rags. To say that we are unworthy is generous. We run about putting our own needs ahead of His; we make time for Him when we are in trouble and we largely ignore Him when we are not. Yet, he never leaves us alone. He is always there.
You may say that you don’t feel like He is always there. But I’ve learned through many a trial and situation that how we feel does not always reflect actual reality. You may feel alone but you are never alone. He is always there.
In a world and climate where we prefer an assumption over the truth; where we would rather think ill of someone than to think good of them, things can get lonely. I personally don’t know how the president of the freeworld puts up with this nonsense on a daily basis. I would imagine that he has deepened the relationship with God that He has professed. For, when you can’t find a friend in a crowd, God is always there.
God stands ready to be whatever you need, whenever you need it. He is the One that stays when everyone else leaves. He is the One that knows your heart and true intent. He is the One that has prepared a way for you seemingly out of no-way. Ah, but with God, there is always a way.
So, will you turn to Him now? We are entering a new year and resolutions are all the chatter. Instead of a resolution that will likely be broken, make a decision that you can keep. Make a choice that has eternal implications. Turn to God, acknowledge His presence and trust Him to lead and to guide you.
Build your relationship with God so that in the good times you praise Him and in the bad times, you can still praise Him because you have come to realize in a most intimate way that He is always there.
